Last year Jessica from Confessions of a Bookaholic and Lisa from A Life Bound By Books posted some Top 10 lists the last week of 2010. For five days they recapped some of their favorite books, covers and characters. They also listed some books they were looking forward to in 2011.
This year they thought they’d do it again… just with a twist. They have invited some friends to help them co-host things and make an event out of it!
So this year Jessica and Lisa are teaming up with Jaime & Patricia from Two Chicks on Books, and Rachel from Fiktshun; to host this awesome blog hop/event! If you'd like to find out more about the hop and join in the fun just click the button at the top of this post and it'll take you to the original rules/info post about the hop!

So today is the first day of Top 10 of 2011 the topic for today's list is: The Top 10 Books I've read in 2011. After thinking long and hard (mostly trying to narrow down my list lol) I think my the books I'd have to go with are:
1. "The Scorpio Races" by Maggie Stiefvater
2. "Divergent" by Veronica Roth
3. "Bloodlines" by Richelle Mead
4. "Born at Midnight" by C.C. Hunter
5. "Dead Until Dark" Charlaine Harris
6. "The Luxe series" by Anna Godbersen
7. "The Iron Fey series" by Julie Kagawa
8. "Fateful" by Claudia Gray
9. "Dearly, Departed" Lia Habel
10. "Dead of Night: A Zombie Novel" by Jonathan Maberry
And I can't leave off a few honorable mentions (mainly because I had to many books to pick from lol)
"XVI" by Julia Karr
"Wuthering Bites" by Sarah Gray
"A Curse Dark as Gold" by Elizabeth C. Bunce
"Magic Under Glass" by Jaclyn Dolamore
"Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" by Seth Grahame-Smith
"Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" by Seth Grahame-Smith
This year has definitely been one of the best reading years I've had to date, and I've got a feeling that 2012 will be just as good if not better!
What are some of your top books for 2011?
Be sure to head over and check out the other blogs that are participating in the hop!
Great picks! I loved Divergent, Bloodlines, the Iron Fey series and the Sookie Stackhouse series! I am dying to read Dearly, Departed, Dead of Night, and The Luxe series! I also have been thinking about trying XVI.

DIVERGENT is on a lot of lists but I keep putting it aside. I really must read it.
ReplyDeleteI read A CURSE AS DARK AS GOLD a while back when it won the Morris Award but I was rather disappointed. It slumped in the middle for me, though the ending was riviting. I'm hoping BETWEEN SHADES OF GRAY wins the Morris this year.
Great list! I loved the Iron Fey series!

Divergent and Bloodlines were really good reads! Divergent is on my list as well, and I usually don't like YA and/or Dystopian novels.. *sigh* Soo good. : )
ReplyDeleteAnyway, great picks as far as I can tell!
Happy Holidays,
Patricia
I LOVE Maggie Stiefvater. More people need to read The Scorpio Races! You have a lot of great books here :)
