Q: If you could "unread" a book, which one would it be? Is it because you want to start over and experience it again for the first time? Or because it was THAT bad?
-------------------------------------------
A: Well usually if I start a book and it ends up being a DNF, I won't remember it much anyways. But if it's a book that I though was just THAT bad, I can't seem to forget about it even if I want to.
So a book that I wish I could "unread" would be Twilight. I know there are a lot of people out there that love the series, but it just really wasn't a book I enjoyed reading at all. And I don't say that to be mean but I just really didn't see the point of all the hype it was getting. But that's just my personal opinion because like I said, there are a lot of people who really do love it and that's great. Just wasn't my cup of tea lol.
Now in response to the other part of the question, there are several books I wish I could "unread" just so I could experience them again for the first time. I always re-read my favorite books anyways but if I had the chance I would "unread": The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and Harry Potter. The Lord of the Rings trilogy was the first High Fantasy I'd ever read, it was a totally new experience for me. And Harry Potter was my first venture into YA Fantasy and it was such a magical adventure from start to finish!
And of course I can't forget a few classics like Wuthering Heights, and Anne of Green Gables. They're two extremely different books but the effect they both had on me was one you don't forget, so being able to read them again for the first time would be wonderful.
Have a great weekend and happy reading!
I loved Twilight when I first read it but I definitely agree about the hype be a little too much. New follower :)

I'm not a Twilight fan myself. I wouldn't "unread" the first because it's such a hot topic I'm glad that I can discuss it. However, I read the next 2 books and that I truly truly regret.

Harry Potter - how much I love it! This book really equals the word childhood for me :) I really need lord of the Rings, too, though.

I loved Twilight, as well as Harry Potter(which I would reread again and again). Now Lord of the Rings I still need to read them.

Hopping through. I read Anne of Green Gables when I was 8 and thought it was okay. I re-read it when I was 19 and loved it. I'd like to re-read it again.

I'm not a Twilight fan, but it didn't quite make a bad enough impression on me that I would want to unread it. (Honestly,Dan Bergstein's blog articles about it make it totally worth it!)
ReplyDeleteAnd I completely agree with you about LotR, HP, and Wuthering Heights!
