Q: Summer Reading. What was your favorite book that you were REQUIRED to read when you were in school?
A: Well I think I'd have to go with
To Kill a Mockingbird,
A Tale of Two Cities, and
The Iliad. And of course any and all
Shakespeare! Although, I started reading Shakespeare right after I turned 13 so by the time I got to the point where I was required to read Shakespeare for school I had already read a good bit of his work lol.
Since I was home schooled it was a little different for me, but my mom always tried to have me read the same books hat were required in public schools. But I've always been a bookworm so it wasn't difficult to get me to read lol.
Have a great weekend and happy reading lovelies!
As I was raised in Puerto Rico, we didn't have the same required reading. I read The Iliad in college and really liked it, and of course some Shakespeare was required in HS.

We did read a lot of Shakespeare though I didn't begin to truly enjoy him until after I was out of school. Something about being forced to read a book that really takes the fun out of it. :/ I also read the Iliad in college. Very very much enjoyed that one, but I was in a Greek and Roman mythology course so we really delved deep which made it more fun. Highschool English courses just don't seem to be good at getting kids really interested. At least from my memory. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteI love To Kill a Mockingbird! I only had to read two Shakespeare didn't really enjoy them.
